Traditional games are played with a standard deck of playing cards. Rules for these type of card games are often handed down from generation to generation and can vary not only from state to state, but within a family.  In our family it is interesting to just sit down a play a game of Rummy sometimes as all of us have minor changes to the rules.  It is probably a good idea to play one hand that "doesn't count" to make sure you are all on the same page.
