Reproduction of a Civil War era poker deck with full-length, single-ended court figures. Box reproduced with original tax stamps showing hand cancellation June 2, 1864.   Decks used during the Civil War did not have corner indices.  So the "Number" cards do not show numbers, just suits. This unique deck comes with a reproduction of L.I. Cohen's original ace of spades, as well as a more standard one.

This antique reproduction of a Civil War-era deck is beautifully crafted with gold detail embellishing every card. In the style of the times, this deck includes full-length, single-ended court figures, square corners and traditional non-indexed styling.  Originally produced by L. I. Cohen of New York, the deck is perfect for any American Civil War re-enactment or to be used as "period" playing cards.

This deck of cards features beautiful full-color illustrations of horses on each card that were created exclusively for this special series.  The Card set has 54 stately horse breeds of the world, from the French Trotter to the Rocky Mountain Pony.  A few other horse breeds included are the Hanoverian, the Trakehner, the Holsteiner, the Appaloosa, the Shagya Arabian, the Salerno, the Connemara Pony, the Friesian and many other unique breeds.  The card back design has an artistic scene of two baroque horses.
